Recent Activities
Since retiring from IEAGHG I have undertaken a number of activities relating to Carbon Capture and Storage Technology which help to keep me up to date with developments.
I regularly review articles for the International Journal of Greenhouse gas Control, and have done this now for over 30 papers mainly focussing on post combustion capture technology.
I have been a reviewer and rapporteur for reviews of several EU CCS research projects for the EU Commission and also reviewed a study carried out by GCCSI.
I assisted the Ministry of education of the Czech republic in evaluation of a new methodology for assessment of their research institutions and the research Council of Norway in evaluating some CCS related research proposals.
I have researched
and written two complete studies for IEAGHG on CCS cluster
projects and integration of renewable energy with CCS. I also
assisted IEAGHG in preparation and reviews of studies on capture in
the iron and steel industry and emerging capture
technologies.
Until recently I retained and active interest in running their high temperature solid looping network attending network meetings in Petten, Oviedo, Beijing and Cambridge. I also delivered a session on safety in CCS to their Beijing students summer school.
I have advised a specialist consultant on CO2 capture with EOR and my most recent work has been in support of the Leeds City gate H21 project where I advised on technologies for capturing CO2 during manufacture of Hydrogen from Natural Gas using Steam Methane Reforming (SMR)
